ABOUT US
We are a small family business, run by Robert & Martha Orton, in
the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains near Charlottesville,
Virginia. We have extensive experience in custom hand bookbinding,
repair and conservation and enjoy working with a variety of fine
materials in our efforts to care for books and paper items. Each
project we take on begins with a careful assessment of what is needed to
preserve the item's appearance, continued usefulness and value. After
examining the book, print or document, we will contact you with our
perspective on what can best be done to conserve the item. If you are
looking for a new binding, we can offer a wide range of choices for a
beautiful custom binding in either cloth or leather, with gold tooling
as an option for titling and decorative design as well.
